***NOT A BREEDING DOG***

Athena is my German Shepherd Dog - colored white, and my first sport dog. She got me into competing and was eventually the reason I met Jean and got Furrari. Athena and I had a fun career in agility in CPE, UKC, and AKC, and then dabbled a little bit in UKC obedience and rally. Unfortunately, her career was cut short after she broke her leg in 2018. A year after breaking her leg, Athena went to UKC Premier for her final trials. She had a hell of a weekend, earning placements in both of her All Stars classes and Top Junior agility as well as her UKC Grand Agility Champion title. Since then, she's been living it up at home as a spoiled girl.

Athena was the perfect first sport dog. She was easy to train, unbothered by anything at a dog trial, and very intelligent. Aside from her success at trials, she was easy to live with and easy to take places. As Athena was coming to the end of her competitive career, I truly had no idea what dog I'd end up with next. I loved Athena, but white coated German Shepherds are not exactly well bred dogs since the breed standard DQs them, and reputable breeders adhere to the standard. I considered, briefly, a (standard color) German Shepherd, but that just didn't seem like what I wanted. Part of me wanted another white, and I had heard of the White Swiss Shepherd, however after scrolling through websites, no one was doing what I had hoped to do with my next dog. Thankfully, I met Jean at UKC Gateway Nationals in 2017. I was there competing with Athena in agility, and approached Jean to ask her about her dogs. I liked what I saw and went through her website, clicking through pedigrees on every dog. I was set on a dog from her, but wanted to wait until 2019 or so. However, 2018 didn't go as planned, with Athena breaking her leg which ended her agility career. Jean posted about Furrari being available, and I had wanted a long coated female with tug drive, which fit the description of the baby cotton ball that cam home. At that point, I can honestly say I wasn't concerned about breeding. I just wanted another dog to compete with as Athena's retirement was coming sooner than we thought.
